Youth assaulted in Nagpur over suspicion of siding with 'rival group'
Four men attacked a 22-year-old in Nagpur's Jaripatka area after accusing him of associating with a rival group, police said
A 22-year-old man was assaulted in Nagpur's Jaripatka area after four people accused him of associating with a rival group. The incident took place near a drain in Christian Colony, Mekosabagh, on the night of September 22.
According to police, Aniket Pradeep Khobragade, a resident of Lashkaribagh, was sitting with his friends when Alakshit Ambade, Manish Samudre, Tushar alias Mendi and Sonam arrived. The accused asked Aniket why he stayed with people from the opposing group, leading to an argument.
The four allegedly abused and assaulted Aniket. Alakshit Ambade struck him on the head and nose with a bracelet he was wearing, injuring him.
After Aniket was treated for his injuries, Jaripatka police registered a case against all four accused based on his complaint. Accused Manish Samudre also has two other cases registered against him at Pachpaoli police station.
