Woman loses jewellery worth Rs 16 lakh in Nagpur bus theft
A 60-year-old woman's purse was stolen while she travelled by bus from Nagpur to Wardha
Jewellery worth Rs 16.25 lakh was stolen from a 60-year-old woman's purse while she was travelling by bus from Nagpur to Wardha, police said.
The woman boarded a Shivai bus from the Sneh Nagar bus stop in the Pratapnagar police station area to travel to Wardha. Taking advantage of the crowd, an unidentified accused stole a small purse containing gold jewellery from her bag. The small purse held jewellery worth Rs 16.25 lakh.
Pratapnagar police have registered a case of theft.
With the festive season underway, a large number of women are travelling by bus, and this has made thieves and pickpockets more active as well.
