WhatsApp calls keep dropping? Try these simple fixes

WhatsApp today is used not just for chatting but heavily for video and voice calls. But often the other person's voice is not clear during a call, and the conversation keeps getting interrupted. The fault need not lie only with the phone; the internet connection, app settings or a faulty microphone can also cause calling problems. If you too are facing such trouble repeatedly while making WhatsApp calls, it can be fixed by following a few simple steps.

First, check the internet connection. The quality of a WhatsApp call depends the most on the internet connection. If the phone's WiFi is weak or mobile data is not working properly, call quality can suffer. In such a case, turn the internet off and on again. If needed, try switching from mobile data to WiFi or from WiFi to mobile data and attempt the call again.

The second method is to update the app. Using an old version often causes disruptions in calling. Update WhatsApp to the latest version from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store and then try calling again.

Cleaning the microphone and speaker also matters. If dust collects in the phone's microphone and speaker, sound quality can worsen. So keep the smartphone's speaker and microphone clean, but never use anything sharp while cleaning.

A Bluetooth connection can also be a reason. If your phone is connected to Bluetooth earbuds, headphones or a car system and the connection is not working properly, it can also cause problems in WhatsApp calling. In that case, turn the phone's Bluetooth off and on again, and reconnect the earbuds, headphones or car system. This can fix the voice problem to a large extent.

If the calling problem is not resolved even after trying all these methods, close WhatsApp completely and reopen it. If the trouble still persists, restart the phone, since calling disruptions are often also caused by some process or software running in the background.
