In Wardha city on the night of September 20, 2026, between about 8 and 8:30 pm, a complainant and his friend were riding a moped from Post Office Chowk towards Gandhi Putla when two unknown youths on another moped rode up from behind, blocked their vehicle and began abusing them.

The complainant asked his friend to call the police, but two more unknown youths, already waiting on a separate moped, started beating the friend. When the complainant stepped in to save his friend, all four accused first punched and beat them. One of the accused then used a sharp weapon to strike the complainant below his left ear and on his left cheek, injuring him.

The accused forcibly pulled off and snatched a 5-gram gold ring set with an emerald from the complainant's finger, valued at around Rs 45,000. The complainant's friend was also struck with a sharp weapon. Based on the complainant's oral report and the doctor's injury report, Wardha City police station registered a case under separate sections and began investigating.

Police Inspector Nageshkumar Chatarkar of Wardha City police station, taking note of the seriousness of the case, immediately directed Police Sub-Inspector Sharad Gaikwad, head of the Crime Detection Unit, to investigate. The team began investigating at once and, based on information gathered and available evidence, traced all four unknown youths involved in the incident. The investigation found that all four were children in conflict with law. Under the provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act, the sharp weapon used in the incident, a knife, and both mopeds were seized from these children in conflict with law, and they were sent to a child care institution.

The action was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Saurabhkumar Agrawal, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sunil Mahadik and Police Inspector Nageshkumar Chatarkar, and was jointly executed by Crime Detection Officer Police Sub-Inspector Sharad Gaikwad along with police personnel Gajendra Dharme, Nitin Itkare, Prashant Vanjari, Abhijeet Waghmare, Narendra Kamble, Shravan Pawar, Ranjeet Bhurse and Amol Salvan.
