Wardha City police have recovered six stolen motorcycles in connection with a motorcycle theft case registered at Wardha City police station. One of the motorcycles is linked to the original complaint, while the remaining five were also seized from the accused.

The case began with a complaint by Praful Krishnarao Ramteke, 47, a resident of Meera Nagar Ward No. 5, Sindhi Meghe, Wardha. Ramteke told police that on the night of August 17, 2026, around 8 pm, he had gone to buy vegetables at the Bhaji Bazaar near Bajaj Chowk on his Hero Honda Splendor Plus motorcycle, registration number MH 32 L 737. He parked the motorcycle near a banana stall by the market's first gate and went to buy vegetables. When he returned around 8:15 pm, the motorcycle was missing. Despite searching the area, it could not be found.

The complainant's black Splendor Plus motorcycle, with a silver stripe on the tank and valued at around Rs 15,000, was reported stolen by an unidentified person. Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Wardha City police station, and the investigation was led by Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajendra Hadke and his team.

Around the same time, Yavatmal police arrested the accused, Vrishabh Shankarrao Tekam, 36, a resident of Yerangaon, Babhulgaon taluka, Yavatmal district. During questioning, the accused confessed to stealing the motorcycle from Wardha, after which a total of six motorcycles were seized from near his farm during a PCR operation. These included a black Splendor motorcycle with a white-blue stripe, number MH 32 L 0737 (valued at around Rs 25,000), a Splendor numbered MH 32 M 6502 (around Rs 30,000), a Splendor numbered MH 32 E 4195 (around Rs 30,000), a Splendor numbered MH 32 M 6851 (around Rs 30,000), a Splendor numbered MH 29 AC 3337 (around Rs 30,000), and a Bajaj Platina motorcycle numbered MH 32 L 2496 (around Rs 1,75,000).

The operation was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Saurabhkumar Agrawal, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Sunil Mahadik. The team included Police Inspector Nageshkumar Chatarkar, Police Sub-Inspector Sharad Gaikwad, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajendra Hadke, police personnel Rajesh Dal, Santosh Ighare and Chetan Dubey, and drivers Azeem Shaikh and Shashikant Mundhe. Further investigation is being carried out by Wardha police.
