Wardha investment fraud of Rs 62 lakh: accused arrested

Police arrested a man who had been living under a fake identity in Chhattisgarh in a Rs 62 lakh investment fraud case registered in Wardha.

The Economic Offences Wing, Wardha, has arrested accused Pushpak Kishor Patle, a resident of Tirora, district Gondia, in crime number 0719/2024 registered at Deoli police station under sections 316(2), 316(5), 318(4), 3(5) of the BNS and sections 3 and 4 of the MPID Act, and seized goods worth Rs 7,80,000 from him.

According to police, the accused, through his firm PVR Multitrading Lab located at Arvi Naka, Wardha, lured the complainant and other people into investing money by promising good returns on trading. To win their trust, he also gave them a written undertaking. Investors were initially given some profit, but later the accused began stalling on returns. In this way, the complainant and other witnesses were cheated of a total of Rs 62,02,000. The case was registered on 08-08-2024 based on the complainant's written report. During the investigation it emerged that the actual amount defrauded from investors was Rs 1,07,50,000, while goods worth Rs 93,06,646 had already been seized in the case earlier.

During the investigation, the director of PVR Multitrading Lab and main accused Vikram Gyaneshwar Parbat, a resident of Borgaon Meghe, Wardha, was arrested on 19-08-2025. He is currently in judicial custody at Wardha jail.

Meanwhile, Vikram Parbat's associate in the case, accused Pushpak Patle, a resident of Tirora, Gondia, had for several years been hiding his real identity and living in another state under the name Rahul Verma, evading police. Police tracked him down by studying travel route patterns through Pune and Chhattisgarh using technical methods, and took him into custody from Ekta Nagar, Purani Bhilai-3, Durg district, Chhattisgarh. He was arrested in this case on 17-09-2026, and his police custody remand ran from 17-09-2026 to 21-09-2026. A Mahindra XUV 500 car, registration number MH 32 C 7721, worth Rs 7,00,000, an Apple 14 Pro Max mobile phone worth Rs 40,000, and two HP laptops worth Rs 40,000, together worth a total of Rs 7,80,000, were seized from him.

This action was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Saurabh Kumar Agrawal, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare and Deputy Superintendent of Police Pramod Makeshwar, by Assistant Police Inspector Nishant Phulekar along with staff members police havildar Nikesh Gujar, Kunal Dange, Rajesh Pachre and police constable Ankit Jibhe.
