Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has reacted to the audio clip of Manoj Jarange Patil, which is widely discussed in Maharashtra and going viral on social media. Wadettiwar said he heartily congratulated Jarange Patil for bringing out the clip, because it had shown the people the real face of this government.

Wadettiwar said the BJP and Shinde's Shiv Sena were hungry for power. According to him, the Congress had said from the start that, whether OBC or Maratha, these communities should get justice without anything being taken from anyone, and no one should suffer a loss. That, he said, was the Congress's stand.

He alleged that the two parties in power were locked in a race to become chief minister and were ready to do anything for it. Naming "Eknathbhau and Devabhau", Wadettiwar said they had harmed the people of Maharashtra by creating an OBC versus Maratha dispute. He said a quarrel was set off between two communities to come to power, that this won them the chair, and that they were now fighting over that same chair.

Wadettiwar said the clip had widened the rift between the two parties greatly, and that it was not hidden anywhere. He said an inquiry must be held into who leaked the clip. At what level the inquiry is held, he said, should be decided by the two sides in power. But one thing was clear, he said: their fight had now grown very serious.

He asked how far these people would go for power by putting out such clips, when the state faces a drought crisis, the MPSC is in a bad state and there are many other issues. According to Wadettiwar, they are hungry for power and not for the people. He said it had become clear that they do not care if someone loses their life or people die fighting each other to gain power.

He also questioned what is true in the audio clip. He said whether it is 500, 2000 or something else should be investigated. Whom to investigate is the government's matter, he said, but the Congress's clear view is that an inquiry must be held. Whether through the ED or the CBI, the government should do what it sees fit, he said, but the truth must be brought before the people.

Wadettiwar also said that if someone is defaming someone through this, that reality too should come out. In his words, both the factual position and the truth should be revealed.
