Vivo Y600 with 10,000mAh battery enters Guinness World Records after 32 hours 37 minutes

Tech company Vivo will launch its new smartphone, the Y600, in China on October 30. Ahead of the launch, the company has shared details of the phone's battery, and the phone is already drawing considerable attention.

The company has announced that the upcoming smartphone will have a 10,000mAh battery. Vivo says the battery will last two days. The biggest reason for the buzz is that the smartphone has been entered in the Guinness World Records for battery life.

In another Weibo post, Vivo said the Y600 had earned its place in the Guinness World Records for battery life. In a live-streaming test, the phone stayed on continuously for 32 hours 37 minutes. An image shared with the post says the test was conducted on August 11 this year. The company also presented a demo of the phone's performance during a demanding battery test.

In one Weibo post, Vivo had given October 30 as the launch date in China. An image of the phone shared with the same post shows it in white and purple. The image brings out the design, with flat sides and a slightly raised camera module. The camera module suggests the phone has a dual-camera setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor.

It is being speculated that the Y600 is actually a rebranded version of the Vivo V80 Lite, which was recently launched in Malaysia. Several features of the Y600 could therefore be similar to that phone.

The Vivo V80 Lite has a 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone has IP68 and IP69 ratings for protection against dust and water. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300e chipset. It also has a 10,000mAh battery with 44W wired charging support. If the Y600 does turn out to be a rebranded version of this phone, it could offer the same features.
