Smartphone maker Vivo has launched a new device in its Y-series in its home market of China, called the Vivo Y600i. This is the third phone in the series, after the Vivo Y600 Turbo and Y600 Pro, which came with 9,020mAh and 10,200mAh batteries respectively. The new Y600i, however, gets an 8,000mAh battery, a smaller capacity than its two predecessors in the series.

On price, the variant with 6GB RAM and 256GB storage is priced at 1,999 yuan, which works out to around Rs 24,000. The phone will be available in three colours: Stardust, Sky Blue and Midnight Black.

The phone has a 6.87-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1592 x 720 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. The display's maximum brightness goes up to 1,300 nits and it supports DC dimming. At the software level, the phone has received TUV Rheinland certification for low blue-light protection, meant to reduce eye strain.

The 8,000mAh battery supports up to 44W wired charging and reverse charging. According to the company, a full charge can deliver up to 25 hours of backup for watching short videos or 16 hours for navigation.

The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chipset, paired with 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Storage can be expanded up to 2TB via microSD card, while a RAM expansion feature can boost RAM up to 12GB. The phone runs Android 16 with the OriginOS 6 interface and includes several AI features.

On cameras, the Vivo Y600i has a 50-megapixel rear camera with autofocus support and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, along with Bluetooth 5.1, dual-SIM 5G, USB Type-C and an infrared blaster.
