Ultraviolette Shockwave launch pushed back again, bike now due in first quarter of 2027
Bengaluru-based Ultraviolette has delayed the Shockwave electric motorcycle once more and says it will now reach the market in Q1 2027, on a new 100V architecture.
Ultraviolette, the Bengaluru-based electric two-wheeler company, has once again pushed back the launch of its Shockwave electric motorcycle. According to the company's latest update, the bike will now reach the market in the first quarter (Q1) of 2027. The company has decided to use a new 100V architecture for the bike.
The Shockwave was unveiled in March 2025 for the first 1,000 customers at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.49 lakh. It had then been said that deliveries would begin in early 2026. The launch will now take longer. The company has begun preparing a production line for the Shockwave at its existing manufacturing plant.
The new 100V architecture is being seen as the bike's defining feature. It is expected to make power delivery more effective and improve thermal efficiency. Charging speed will also increase. The company says it has built the bike for a light riding experience.
The Shockwave has a 3.5 kWh battery pack and an IDC-certified range of 165 km. Peak power output is 14.5 bhp, while the rear wheel gets 505 Nm of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 kmph in just 2.9 seconds. The company's emphasis is therefore on daily city use as well as a sporty riding experience.
The bike has a 19-inch spoke wheel at the front with a 90/90 section tyre, and a 17-inch spoke wheel at the rear with a 110/90 tyre. Suspension consists of a USD fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Both wheels have disc brakes.
The bike will come in two colours, Cosmic Black and Frost White. Customers will have both single-seat and dual-seat options.
Ultraviolette built the Shockwave taking inspiration from the light, fun and engaging riding experience of older 2-stroke motorcycles. The company has earlier also pushed back the launch and delivery schedule of its Tesseract electric scooter. Q1 2027 has now been set for the Shockwave. Closer to the launch, the company will reveal the final specifications and other details.
