Ujjwal Nikam recalls Kasab's claim about Amitabh Bachchan on KBC 18

The show Kaun Banega Crorepati 18 is in the news these days. In a special episode titled "Prahar - The Untold Story of Ujjwal Nikam", senior public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam appeared as a guest, along with actor Rajkummar Rao and actress Wamiqa Gabbi as special guests. In this episode, Nikam shared an incident related to the interrogation of accused Ajmal Kasab during the trial of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack case.

According to Nikam, during the interrogation, Kasab had given a reason for coming to Mumbai. He said the accused Kasab had claimed he was a fan of Hindi films and had come to Mumbai to meet Amitabh Bachchan and see his house. Nikam said this was Kasab's own claim, which came up during the interrogation.

As soon as this alleged claim by Kasab was mentioned, Amitabh Bachchan reacted sharply on the show. Big B was quoted as saying, "If Kasab had come to our house, he would not have been able to go back from there. I would have shot him right there." After this statement, the mood on the show turned serious for a few moments.

Ujjwal Nikam further said that during the interrogation, the accused Kasab had also tried to mislead the investigating agencies. According to him, Kasab had initially claimed that he was not arrested in connection with the 26/11 Mumbai attack, but was instead caught at Juhu Chowpatty on November 6.

Nikam also said that the accused Kasab had claimed to be a minor, which raised a legal question over his age. According to him, medical tests were also conducted to determine Kasab's real age.
