A startling incident took place on Monday in the fields of Bagholi, a village at the far edge of Tirora taluka in Gondia district. Stray dogs suddenly attacked a fawn. Two young children who were on their way to a field kept their presence of mind, drove the dogs away and saved the injured fawn's life. The two children are now much talked about in the village.

The area around Bagholi has plenty of greenery, farmland and natural habitat, and wild animals are seen moving about there. On Monday afternoon, a fawn was grazing on the bund of a field when three to four stray dogs began chasing it.

Soon the dogs surrounded the fawn from all sides and attacked it. Bitten by the dogs, the fawn was seriously injured and blood flowed from its body.

At that very moment, the two children were walking towards the field. On the way, they heard the fawn's cries. As soon as they realised what was happening, they ran to the spot without wasting any time.

The two picked up sticks and, shouting loudly, drove the dogs away from the fawn. Faced with the children's resistance, the stray dogs finally fled.

Once the danger from the dogs had passed, the children brought the injured fawn to a safe place. They gave it water and tried to give first aid to its wounds. The forest department was then informed of the incident. With help arriving in time, the process of caring for the injured fawn began.

Without thinking of their own safety, the children sized up the situation, drove off the dogs and got help for the fawn. Their courage and sensitivity towards wildlife have become a special topic of conversation. It was because of the two children's action that the injured fawn received help. Residents of Bagholi and the surrounding area are praising the two.
