TVS Motor has expanded its premium scooter lineup with the launch of the new NTORQ 150 in Nepal. The company claims it is the first 150cc hyper-sport scooter to enter the Nepali market. Launched in partnership with Jagdamba Motors, the scooter has a starting price of Rs 3,69,900.

On the engine front, the NTORQ 150 comes with a 149.7cc air-cooled engine featuring O3C technology. The engine generates 13.2 PS of power and 14.2Nm of torque. The scooter has a top speed of 104kph and can go from 0-60kph in 6.3 seconds, meaning it focuses on delivering a sporty riding experience alongside everyday usability.

The scooter also gets significant attention on the safety front. It comes with single-channel ABS and a traction control system (TCS). It also gets switchable riding modes and an interactive assist system. These features are meant to strengthen the model's technical credentials in the premium scooter segment.

Connected features are another highlight of the scooter. Through TVS's SmartXonnect technology, it offers more than 50 connected features. This is aimed at bringing together digital technology and performance, giving the scooter an identity built with young riders in mind.

TVS's partnership with Jagdamba Motors in Nepal has been in place since 2015, giving the company support of a nationwide sales and after-sales network. TVS's focus in Nepal had earlier been on the 125cc NTORQ segment. With the NTORQ 150, the company has now entered the premium performance scooter segment. This is expected to intensify competition among TVS, Yamaha and Honda in Nepal's sporty scooter market.
