TVS Motor Company has unveiled the iQube in the Philippines at Wheeltek's 50th anniversary exhibition, with prices starting at P99,800.
TVS Motor Company has launched its electric scooter, the TVS iQube, in the Philippines. The scooter was unveiled at an exhibition held to mark Wheeltek's 50th anniversary. The iQube starts at P99,800 in the Philippines.
The company's aim is to keep the price of the electric scooter close to that of a conventional petrol scooter. The iQube has been introduced in the market there with this approach.
The scooter has a 4.6kW hub-mounted electric motor, which the company claims can be considered equal to the performance of a 125cc scooter. Its top speed is 82km/h, and it reaches 40km/h from a standstill in just 4.2 seconds.
The iQube can be fitted with two 3.5kWh battery packs. With both batteries in use, it delivers a real-world range of about 115km. A 950W portable charger is provided, and charging the battery from 0 to 80 per cent takes less than three hours.
The scooter has a 7-inch TFT display. Through SmartXonnect and cloud-connected features, riders can use turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, music and geofencing, and view ride and charging statistics. It has 32 litres of storage under the seat, and a reverse mode to make parking easier.
TVS has offered a warranty of 5 years or 60,000km on the battery and motor. According to the company, the iQube has crossed the figure of 1 million customers worldwide.
The TVS Orbiter was also previewed alongside the iQube at the exhibition in the Philippines. Its price will be announced later. TVS's King EV electric three-wheeler was also on display.
