Truck goes out of control at Nagpur hospital, kills one, injures two
An Ashok Leyland truck delivering construction material ran over three people at a hospital in MIDC, Nagpur, killing one and critically injuring two.
Panic broke out at Shalinitai Meghe Hospital in MIDC, Nagpur, on Sunday afternoon after a truck carrying construction material hit three people.
Twenty-six-year-old Shyamkrishnan P.P.K. died on the spot, while Aman K.P. (23) and Shraddha Vicky Vasekar were critically injured.
The truck, numbered MH-40 CT-3161, had brought material for construction work under way on the hospital premises. After unloading the material, the driver was taking the truck out when it suddenly went out of control near the hospital building.
The truck hit three people who were passing by from behind. Shyamkrishnan was run over and died at the scene.
The incident caused screaming and chaos on the premises. People tried to stop the driver, who fled the scene on foot, fearing he would be beaten.
MIDC police reached the spot, recovered the truck and have registered a case against the driver.
