Traffic jam breaks out inside Bengaluru housing society, woman's video goes viral
A woman filmed a traffic jam inside her Bengaluru housing society's premises, sparking wide discussion online.
The population of India's big cities keeps rising, making infrastructure planning increasingly difficult for authorities. Like Mumbai and Pune, Bengaluru too is seeing growing congestion, directly affecting people's daily lives. A woman has now made an unusual situation arising from this congestion go viral through a video that is being widely discussed.
Traffic jams on Bengaluru's roads are a known problem, but now a case has surfaced of long lines of vehicles forming even inside the premises of a housing society. A woman shared a video of this on social media, which is currently the subject of much discussion.
The incident took place not in the morning or evening but on a Saturday afternoon. At exactly 2 pm, a traffic jam formed inside the premises of the woman's housing society. She immediately filmed it on her phone and shared the video on social media.
According to the woman, residents trying to reach the main road from the society premises were running straight into the traffic jam. A long line of vehicles had formed on the road leading out of the society, forcing some residents to wait a full 30 minutes to get out.
After the woman shared the video, social media users began reacting in various ways. Many expressed surprise that traffic jams on Bengaluru's roads had now reached inside residential society premises.
Some social media users said the problem could worsen further because of poor planning of internal roads and access routes in large residential projects. Several said the video was from Brigade Utopia in the Whitefield area. Some also said the area sees heavy traffic jams because of narrow roads and a steadily rising number of vehicles.
The video also points to a broader issue: while tall buildings keep coming up in India's big cities, a clear lack of traffic planning within them is evident.
