A threat to blow up actor Amitabh Bachchan's Mumbai bungalow, Jalsa, with a grenade has come to light. The name of Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is also reported to figure in the matter.

The safety of film personalities has once again come into question. Only a few days ago, a shooting incident linked to actor Tiger Shroff had caused alarm in Bollywood.

Mumbai Mayor Ritu Tawde is also reported to have received a threatening email. The email mentions Bachchan's residence, Jalsa, in Juhu, and also refers to Dosanjh's upcoming performances.

Efforts are under way to establish who is behind the threat and what the real motive is. Investigating agencies are gathering information.

Dosanjh's concert is scheduled for November 27 at the Racecourse in Mumbai. With the threat now linked to the event, concern has grown among organisers and fans.

According to the information available, the threat is not confined to the mayor's office. Several schools have been sent similar emails. The threat also extends to blowing up Bachchan and Dosanjh's concert. Some prominent schools in Mumbai have also received threat-like emails.

Sources said three to four large schools in Dadar received the email in the morning. As soon as news of the email came in, police searched the schools. Nothing suspicious was found.

Even so, the email created an atmosphere of tension around the schools for some time. All eyes are now on when the investigating agencies will reach the sender. Until then, concern remains over the safety of artistes, events and schools.
