Dr Atul Kapse, a resident of Surendranagar, had gone with his family to Bhubaneswar in Odisha on October 22. The accused left after committing the crime, unaware that their movements might have been captured by CCTV cameras on the premises.
Dr Kapse returned home on October 26. The broken lock on the main door and the scattered belongings inside alerted him to the theft. On checking, he found goods worth Rs 7.16 lakh missing, including Rs 25,000 in cash, gold and silver jewellery, a camera and a watch.
