Tata Motors has launched a Dark Edition of its popular Sierra SUV in the Indian market. The special edition has a starting ex-showroom price of Rs 13.99 lakh. It will be available to customers in six variants: Pure L, Pure L (O), Pure+ L, Adventure+ L, Accomplished and Accomplished+. Along with the black look, the cabin also gets a distinct touch.

The Dark Edition gets a Friesian Black colour on the outside. This black shade is paired with Purple Chrome accents, giving the SUV a look different from the regular Sierra. Inside the cabin, it gets a Violet Eclipse theme, all-black leatherette seats and purple chrome detailing. In other words, the SUV is dressed in a dark theme from the outside to the inside.

No changes have been made at the mechanical level for this edition. Depending on the variant, the same 1.5-litre Revotron petrol, 1.5-litre Kryojet diesel and 1.5-litre Hyperion turbo petrol engine options are available as before, along with manual, DCA and automatic transmission choices. The most powertrain options are available in the Adventure+ L Dark variant.

On pricing, the Pure L Dark starts at Rs 13.99 lakh, while the automatic variant of the top-spec Accomplished+ Dark goes up to Rs 21.59 lakh. No separate new features have been added for this Dark Edition; it retains the same features available in the corresponding regular variants. This means the version is likely to attract customers through its distinctive design and look rather than additional features.

The Sierra has now joined Tata Motors' family of Dark Edition models. For customers who prefer a stylish black theme and a more striking road presence, this new version becomes a distinct option in the Sierra range.
