Tata Safari EV to get triple-screen dashboard, 65 and 75 kWh battery options
Tata Motors' upcoming Safari EV has been spotted with a triple-screen dashboard ahead of its expected 2026 festive season launch.
Tata Motors' much-awaited Safari EV is set to arrive in the Indian market soon. It will be the company's first three-row electric SUV and is expected to launch during the 2026 festive season. It will mainly rival electric SUVs such as the Mahindra XEV 9S. The price is estimated to be between Rs 22.5 lakh and Rs 30 lakh.
A test mule of the Safari EV was recently spotted with a triple-screen dashboard. It is expected to get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen. The top variant may also get a 12.3-inch passenger display, which could offer entertainment, video, games and music features.
On the battery front, the Safari EV is expected to get 65 kWh and 75 kWh LFP battery pack options from Tata Motors. The larger 75 kWh battery may be available in both RWD and AWD configurations. For reference, the Harrier EV's 75 kWh RWD variant has an MIDC range of 627 km, while the AWD variant has a range of 622 km. Since the Safari EV is larger and heavier, its range is expected to be slightly lower.
On performance, the Safari EV is expected to offer both a single-motor RWD and a dual-motor AWD option. Like the Harrier EV, the RWD setup could produce around 238 hp and 315 Nm of torque, while the AWD version could have a combined torque of up to 504 Nm. The AWD model may also get terrain modes such as Snow/Grass, Mud-Ruts, Sand and Rock Crawl.
Other modern features expected include aerodynamic 19-inch alloy wheels, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, ventilated seats, a digital IRVM and ADAS. With these additions, the Safari EV is expected to be more than just an electric version of the petrol-diesel Safari, aiming to offer a distinct experience in terms of technology and comfort.
