The new safari season began in the core zone of the Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve on Wednesday, October 1. On the very first morning safari, tourists saw the tigress known as 'Collarwali'. She was sighted in the Telia area, and the sight left visitors excited. The first day of the season became a memorable one for them.
The core zone of Tadoba has reopened to tourists after a three-month monsoon closure. The forest has turned lush after the rains and water sources are full. These good conditions have also increased the movement of wildlife, raising the expectations of visitors to the reserve.
The formal inauguration of the new season took place at the Moharli gate, led by Deputy Director (Core) Anand Reddy Yelu. The ribbon was cut at the gate, while the traditional puja was performed by tourist guides Vasant Sonule and Shahnaz Baig.
The Forest Department welcomed tourists arriving for the first safari of the season with roses. The Tadoba Homestay Association also welcomed tourists and guides with snack boxes and roses.
Present at the inauguration along with Deputy Director Anand Reddy Yelu were ACF Nathu, Tourism RFO Arun Gond, Moharli Core RFO S.B. Awghan and other officers and staff of the Forest Department.
The sighting of the 'Collarwali' tigress in Telia on the first morning safari was the biggest attraction of the inauguration day. Tourists were thrilled to see the tigress in her natural forest.
With the opening of the core zone, the new wildlife tourism season in Tadoba has now officially begun. The lush post-monsoon forest and the tigress sighting right at the start have together raised the enthusiasm of tourists at the start of the new safari season.
