The Asian Para Games 2026 are under way in Japan, and Indian athletes are performing impressively. Swati Chaudhary has won a silver medal in archery. Swati is originally from Uttar Pradesh.

As soon as she won the medal, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath praised her. In a post on social media, he congratulated Swati and wished her well for the journey ahead.

In his post, Adityanath wrote that he congratulated Swati Chaudhary, a daughter of Uttar Pradesh, on winning the silver medal in the women's W1 archery event at the Asian Para Games 2026. He said her historic achievement would inspire countless young people in India to realise their dreams. He further wrote, "We are all proud of you." He ended the post by extending heartfelt good wishes for her bright future.

The occasion has also brought attention to the work being done for sport in Uttar Pradesh. It is said that the state is placing greater emphasis on building modern sports infrastructure so that athletes can get world-class training. It is also said that the government provides financial assistance on time so that athletes face no money problems during training.

Large cash rewards have been arranged for athletes who win medals in national and international competitions. Athletes who perform well are being taken directly into government jobs so that they are assured of security and stability.

The Uttar Pradesh government has taken several important steps to take sport in the state further. Infrastructure is being expanded to provide world-class facilities to athletes, and modern amenities are being developed across the state. As a result, Uttar Pradesh is emerging as a leading sports hub in the country.

High-standard facilities such as stadiums, multipurpose sports halls, swimming pools and synthetic courts are being built in various districts. Under the One District-One Sport scheme, Khelo India centres have been approved in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. Through these centres, local sporting talent is being given professional training, good-quality sports kits and necessary equipment free of cost.
