Social media influencer Mad Sandhu shot dead in Amritsar, police look for two attackers

Well-known social media influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu was shot dead in Amritsar, Punjab. The incident took place on the evening of Saturday, October 3, on Loharka Road. According to police, two unidentified attackers who came on a motorcycle opened fire on him.

Sandhu, who was critically injured, was rushed to a private hospital but died during treatment. Police have begun a search for the attackers. The reason for the killing is not yet clear. Police have also said that some important leads have been found in the case.

It has been said that Sandhu had come near a car wash centre on Loharka Road to get his car washed. At that moment, two attackers on a motorcycle fired at him from close range and fled the spot. Police said, on the basis of preliminary information, that two to three shots were fired.

Police have begun going through CCTV footage from the spot. Several teams are working to identify the attackers.

Meanwhile, a social media post has claimed that gangsters Goldy Dhillon and Jagga Tarn Taran have taken responsibility for the killing. The post is reported to object to Sandhu's social media content. However, there has been no separate official confirmation of the post.

Sandhu was a well-known name in the world of social media and makeup. His content, clothes and some old videos had earlier drawn controversy. It has also come to light that a Nihang group had objected to his content and had also given a veiled warning. Even so, police have not so far made clear whether this old controversy has any connection with the killing.

Police have recorded statements of Sandhu's family members and registered a case. Investigation is continuing into the identity of the attackers, the real motive for the killing and the role of those behind the social media post.
