Smriti Mandhana to captain India women's squads for Zimbabwe T20 and ODI series
The BCCI has named separate squads for the three T20s and three ODIs, with Shafali Verma and Deepti Sharma as vice-captains; the tour begins on October 16.

The Indian women's cricket team will soon play a series of ODI and T20 matches against Zimbabwe. The BCCI has announced the squads, with Smriti Mandhana leading the side.
The BCCI has picked different vice-captains for the two formats. Explosive batter Shafali Verma has been named vice-captain of the T20 team, while all-rounder Deepti Sharma will be vice-captain in the 50-over ODIs. A 15-member squad has been announced for the ODIs, with opener Smriti Mandhana as captain and experienced all-rounder Deepti Sharma as vice-captain.
The schedule for the T20 and ODI series has also been released. The tour will begin on October 16 with the T20 series. Three T20s and three ODIs will be played. The T20 series will be played in Raipur.
The first T20 will be played on October 16, the second on October 18 and the third on October 20.
The T20 squad is: Smriti Mandhana (captain), Shafali Verma (vice-captain), Niki Prasad, Harmanpreet Kaur, Anushka Sharma, Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper), G Kamalini (wicketkeeper), Deepti Sharma, Prema Rawat, Shree Charani, Nandini Sharma, Kranti Goud, Arundhati Reddy, Jintimani Kalita and Minnu Mani.
The ODI squad is: Smriti Mandhana (captain), Shafali Verma, Pratika Rawal, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol, Tejal Hasabnis, Deepti Sharma (vice-captain), Richa Ghosh (wicketkeeper), Yastika Bhatia (wicketkeeper), Vaishnavi Sharma, Nandini Sharma, Shree Charani, Kranti Goud, Sayali Satghare and Renuka Thakur.
Some names are common to both squads, while others differ. Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, Nandini Sharma, Shree Charani and Kranti Goud are in both lists. The remaining players have been picked for only one of the two series.
