Skoda to raise car prices by up to 1.2% from October 1
Skoda Auto India will raise ex-showroom prices across its range from October 1, 2026, by a maximum of Rs 20,000, citing higher input and operational costs.
Skoda Auto India has announced a price increase across its entire car range in India. From October 1, 2026, the ex-showroom prices of the company's vehicles will go up by as much as 1.2%.
The increase will vary by model and variant. The company has said the maximum rise will be Rs 20,000.
Skoda says the decision follows higher input and operational costs. Rising production costs are affecting automobile makers, and Skoda has adjusted part of this in vehicle prices. Customers planning to buy a Skoda may therefore want to book before October 1.
The year 2026 has been an important one for Skoda in terms of new models, variants and feature updates. The company has introduced the new Kushaq and Slavia. The Kodiaq, Kodiaq RS and Octavia RS have been updated, and new trims and features have been added to the Kylaq and other models.
On sales, Skoda Auto India sold 72,655 cars in 2025, its highest ever. In the first half of 2026 too, the company recorded its best-ever half-year sales. It has sold more than 50,000 cars up to August, a rise of more than 8% over the same period last year.
Total sales of Skoda cars made through local production in India have crossed 250,000 units. The Kylaq, Kushaq and Slavia account for a large share of this. The Kylaq alone has crossed 75,000 units sold.
The company has also expanded its retail network in India. It now has more than 345 touchpoints in 193 cities. The year began with a plan of 10 product actions, and through new models, trims and feature updates Skoda has strengthened its portfolio further. It remains to be seen how much the price increase from October 1 affects customers' car-buying budgets.
