Skoda is set to bring the facelifted version of its popular sedan Slavia to the Indian market. The company will officially launch it on October 6, 2026. Bookings for the updated car have begun, and deliveries are expected to start after the launch.

Production of the new Slavia has started at the Chakan plant in Pune. The facelift made its debut in India last month. The company will offer it in six trims: Classic, Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige and Monte Carlo.

Bookings can be made by paying Rs 15,000. The delivery date is expected to be announced by the company at the time of the launch. The ex-showroom price of the current Slavia ranges from Rs 10 lakh to Rs 18.19 lakh. As there are major changes outside and inside, the new model is likely to cost more than the current one. Official price and mileage figures for the facelift have not yet been released.

On design, Skoda has kept the basic silhouette of the Slavia but made several changes to give the car a fresh look. These include updated LED headlamps, new front and rear bumper designs, updated tail lamps and sequential indicators. The car will get new alloy wheels. Customers will also get two new exterior colours: Arctic Silver and Cappuccino Beige.

The cabin has major upgrades too. It has a large 10.1-inch infotainment screen and a 10.15-inch digital driver display. The car comes with a new AI companion based on Google Cloud. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay will also be available. It also has a 360-degree camera and a rear-seat massage feature for rear passengers. A variable-geometry compressor has been added to the air-conditioning system, which is expected to control cabin temperature better.

There is no major change in the engine. As before, there are two turbo-petrol engine options, 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre. The 1.0-litre TSI engine produces 115hp of power and 178Nm of torque. It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox or the new 8-speed automatic transmission. The new 8-speed automatic replaces the 6-speed automatic of the older Slavia.

The more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine produces 150hp of power and 250Nm of torque. It is paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

After the launch, the Slavia facelift will compete directly with the popular sedans in its segment, namely the Volkswagen Virtus, Hyundai Verna and Honda City. How all these updates affect the final price will become clear only after the official launch on October 6.
