Some buyers want good mileage for daily commuting, while others prefer a quick engine and a sporty look. Yamaha has different bikes for both needs. In 2026, six Yamaha motorcycles can be considered within a Rs 2 lakh budget: FZ-S Fi, FZ-X, FZ-X Hybrid, XSR 155, MT-15 V2 and R15 V4. Their prices, engine capacity, mileage and features differ, so comparing them before buying makes it easier to pick the right bike.

The FZ-S Fi is the more affordable option of the six. Its Ver 4.0 DLX variant costs about Rs 1.31 lakh ex-showroom. The hybrid model of the same bike costs about Rs 1.41 lakh, roughly Rs 10,000 more. The ARAI-stated mileage of the FZ-S Fi Hybrid is 53.44 km per litre. It weighs 138 kg and has a seat height of 790 mm. It may suit people who ride daily in the city, but before paying extra for the hybrid, buyers should work out how many kilometres they ride a month and how much petrol that would save.

The Yamaha FZ-X is for those who like a retro look. Its ex-showroom price is between Rs 1.26 lakh and Rs 1.34 lakh. It has no hybrid system, so it is cheaper than the FZ-X Hybrid. It can suit buyers who want a bike with an old-style, attractive design without paying separately for hybrid technology. Before buying, check the features of the variant and the final price quoted by the dealer.

For the FZ-X's retro look together with hybrid technology, there is the Yamaha FZ-X Hybrid, priced at about Rs 1.45 lakh ex-showroom. It comes in Matte Titan colour. It has a 149cc hybrid engine system, and the company claims mileage of about 53 km per litre. These are claim-based figures. Actual mileage can vary with road conditions, traffic, riding style and maintenance. It may appeal to regular city riders who like a distinct design.

For those who want a retro style with modern engine technology, there is the Yamaha XSR 155, priced at about Rs 1.50 lakh to Rs 1.63 lakh ex-showroom. It has a 155cc engine that produces 18.14hp of power and 14.2Nm of torque. The bike weighs 137 kg and has a seat height of 810 mm. A round LCD display shows the gear position, and Y-Connect Bluetooth is also available. Café Racer and Scrambler kits are offered for a different look. The Café Racer kit costs Rs 11,915 and the Scrambler kit Rs 12,330. Buyers planning to fit a kit should add this cost to the budget.

The Yamaha MT-15 V2 is for those who prefer sporty design and strong performance. Its starting ex-showroom price is Rs 1.66 lakh. It has a 155cc engine producing 18.14hp of power and 14.1Nm of torque. It weighs 141 kg, has a seat height of 810 mm and a 10-litre fuel tank. Select variants get a colour TFT display, turn-by-turn navigation and Y-Connect, but these features are not in all variants. Buyers should therefore confirm what each variant offers while deciding on price. Traction control and dual-channel ABS are standard on this bike.

Those who want a sports bike look and a fully faired motorcycle can consider the Yamaha R15 V4. It is the only fully faired bike on this list. Its ex-showroom price is between Rs 1.75 lakh and Rs 1.79 lakh. It also has a 155cc engine, producing 18.14hp of power. Its seat height is 815 mm and the fuel tank holds 11 litres. The company's claimed mileage is about 45 km per litre and the claimed top speed is about 140 km per hour. Select variants get an upshift quick shifter, which reduces the need to use the clutch while shifting up. It is not in all variants, so buyers should confirm this before purchase.

So which Yamaha should one choose on a Rs 2 lakh budget? Buyers should not look only at price or looks, but also at how the bike will be used. For daily city travel, the FZ-S Fi or FZ-X can be considered. For hybrid technology and retro design, there are the FZ-S Fi Hybrid and FZ-X Hybrid. The XSR 155 is a bike with a different style, while the MT-15 V2 and R15 V4 are for those who want a sporty look and performance.

All prices given here are ex-showroom. Insurance, registration, tax and other charges can raise the actual purchase price. Mileage figures are also based on claims by the company or the relevant tests, and may differ in real-world use. Before the final decision, buyers should ask the Yamaha dealer about the variant, available features and the on-road price.
