SIT tells Supreme Court 105 cases of donation theft found at Ram temple
SIT report to Supreme Court cites CCTV analysis showing 105 instances of donation theft at the Ram temple in Ayodhya
The Special Investigation Team probing theft of donations at the Ram temple presented full details to the Supreme Court on Monday (the 21st). During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, citing the SIT's status report, told the court that scrutiny of CCTV footage had revealed 105 instances of donation theft. The court was also told how many people have been arrested in the case so far and what evidence the investigation has turned up.
The SIT has analysed CCTV footage along with other available material. Evidence linked to the donation theft that emerged during the investigation was also placed before the court. The status report stated that the entire investigation had uncovered 105 instances of theft.
Besides CCTV footage, other available material was also examined to identify the accused. The Supreme Court read the status report submitted by the SIT and took the investigation details on record.
The court was told that the investigation included not just CCTV footage but also witness statements and other evidence. Details of the process used to identify suspects based on CCTV footage and other material were also placed before the court.
According to the SIT's report, receipts for valuable items are generated through software. These receipts are then kept in an SBI locker. Details of this entire system were also presented to the court during the investigation.
Meanwhile, a new CEO has been announced for the Ram Mandir Trust. Retired Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra of the Indian Air Force has been appointed the new CEO of the Ram Mandir Trust. During Operation Sindoor, Air Marshal Jitendra Mishra had commanded the Western Command. In addition, Mahesh Bhagchandka, Madan Mohan Pandey and Nirmala Yadav have also been appointed new trustees.
