Shegaon (Bu.) police raided a satta patti gambling spot in Yerkheda and arrested Devrao Parasram Gajbhe (57) red-handed at the spot. The action was taken on October 4, 2026. Gajbhe is accused of running satta patti, and police have registered a case against him.

Police were running a drive against illegal activities during the festival season. During the drive, Sub-Inspector Sumeet Kamble received a tip-off. On October 4, 2026, he was patrolling the area with his team when an informer told him that Devrao Gajbhe of Yerkheda was writing Worli matka numbers in front of his house, taking money from people and running a gambling game of wins and losses.

On receiving the information, police called independent witnesses (panchas). They were gathered near Yerkheda bus station chowk and briefed in detail on the case. The police team and the witnesses then raided the area near the suspect's house.

A man was seen standing there in suspicious circumstances. Police detained and questioned him, and he gave his name as Devrao Parasram Gajbhe. He was then searched in front of the witnesses. From his trouser pocket police recovered three paper slips with satta patti numbers written on them, a blue-black pen and Rs 1,170 in cash. Police seized all of it in front of the witnesses.

On the complaint of Sub-Inspector Sumeet Kamble, a case has been registered against Gajbhe at Shegaon (Bu.) police station under Section 12(A) of the Maharashtra Prevention of Gambling Act, 1887. Assistant Sub-Inspector Ishwar Gadge is conducting further investigation under the guidance of station house officer Yogendrasingh Yadav.
