Man attacks panipuri vendor with broken bottle over drinking money in Nagpur
A vendor was seriously injured when a man he refused to give money for alcohol slashed his face and neck with a broken beer bottle in Nagpur.
Nagpur: A panipuri vendor was seriously injured after a man attacked him with a broken bottle for refusing to give him money to buy alcohol. The incident took place at Khobragade Chowk under Jaripatka police station limits.
Jitendra Verma, 42, who runs a panipuri stall, was passing through Khobragade Chowk on the afternoon of September 24 when Ganpat Mahadev Meshram, 45, of Hudco Colony, stopped him and demanded money to buy alcohol. When Verma refused, Meshram picked up a broken beer bottle lying on the road and attacked him, striking him on the face and neck.
Verma was seriously injured in the attack. Jaripatka police have registered a case of attempt to commit culpable homicide.
