Thousands of passengers travel by ST bus from the Poladpur bus stand in Raigad district every day. A new building has been constructed there for their convenience. It was inaugurated by Bharat Gogawale, Guardian Minister of Raigad district.

The new building was to offer several facilities, including a good toilet, a breastfeeding room for women, a Hirkani room, an eatery and a medical room. But wastewater from the bus stand's urinals is now flowing in the open, and locals and passengers have to put up with the stench.

The new building has come up at the bus stand, but the wastewater is not draining off properly. The condition around the bus stand is worsening, and the upkeep of the premises has become a major concern. With heavy passenger movement at the Poladpur bus stand, dirty water flowing in the open is also a health worry for passengers and local residents.

Passengers and locals complain that they are not getting basic facilities and that maintenance is being neglected. The medical room and the eatery in the new building are also still closed to passengers, so they are not getting the full benefit of the facilities.

Passengers say, "The building is new, but the problem is old." They demand a permanent arrangement for the urinal wastewater and regular cleaning and maintenance of the entire premises. They hope the administration concerned will act immediately and free them from the stench and filth.

Poladpur has a distinct identity as the last taluka of Raigad district. Its bus stand building has been inaugurated, but passengers and locals are now asking whether anything can be done about the building's wastewater.
