Seven new motorcycles expected in October, from Rs 2 lakh sports bike to Rs 13 lakh tourer
BMW, Honda, Triumph, Bajaj, Norton, Yamaha and CF Moto models are expected, though launch dates and prices are not yet confirmed.
October 2026 could be a notable month for the Indian two-wheeler market. A total of seven new motorcycles across different segments are expected this month. Buyers may get a range of options, from a sports bike priced at around Rs 2 lakh to a premium adventure tourer costing more than Rs 13 lakh.
Bikes from BMW, Honda, Triumph, Bajaj, Norton, Yamaha and CF Moto will draw buyers' attention. Some of them could compete directly with models now on sale. Those planning to buy a new bike may therefore benefit from waiting a few weeks.
The first is the BMW F 450 R. BMW is set to unveil its new F 450 R naked streetfighter worldwide on October 1. It will have the same 420cc parallel-twin engine used in the F 450 GS, expected to produce about 47 hp and 43 Nm of torque. The bike will be built at TVS's Hosur plant. The F 450 R can be seen as a more road-focused variant of the F 450 GS.
The second is the Triumph Bonneville 400, which was recently spotted testing in India. It will get a separate chassis and swingarm, meaning it will not share an entirely identical platform with the Speed 400. For the Indian market it is expected to get a 349cc engine, with tuning that could be closer to the character of the Speed T4.
The third is an updated Bajaj Pulsar NS125, which could reach the market in October. The bike has been seen at dealerships in near production-ready form. The update is expected to bring mainly a new instrument cluster and new colours. No major engine change is likely. The current 124.45cc engine produces about 12 hp, and the updated model is expected to retain that output.
The fourth is the Norton Atlas, an important middleweight adventure bike on the list. It has a 585cc parallel-twin engine with a 270-degree crankshaft, producing an estimated 69 hp and 57.5 Nm of torque. The bike gets adjustable KYB suspension and a 7.2-inch TFT display. These features could make it competitive in the adventure bike segment.
The fifth is the Honda Rebel 500. Honda's Rebel 300 is already sold in India, and the company is reported to be preparing to bring the larger Rebel 500. It has a 471cc parallel-twin engine producing 46 hp and 43.3 Nm of torque. Another notable feature is Honda's clutch-optional E-Clutch technology. There is no official word yet on its price in India.
The sixth, the Yamaha Tenere 700, is also expected in India in October. Its likely price is between Rs 13 lakh and Rs 14 lakh. It could bring the Indian market an adventure bike with genuine off-road capability. Options in the adventure-tourer segment at this price have so far been few, so the Yamaha could create fresh competition.
The seventh is the CF Moto 450SR, which could matter to those looking for a sporty bike on a budget. It is expected in India around October 10, with a likely price between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2.5 lakh. Those who want a sportier riding position but do not want to move into the premium naked-bike segment may like it.
Going by the likely prices of the seven motorcycles, there could be an option for almost every kind of buyer. The CF Moto 450SR and a few other models will be in the Rs 2 lakh range, while the Yamaha Tenere 700 could cost Rs 13 lakh to Rs 14 lakh. Buyers looking for naked bikes, adventure tourers, retro motorcycles, commuters or sportier bikes are likely to find new options every month.
The launch dates and prices of all these motorcycles are still only expected. The official announcement or final price of some models has not been decided. Buyers could therefore wait a few weeks if possible. Once the companies make the final launch dates, prices and features clear, buyers can compare options according to their budget and needs. For those considering an outgoing model, it will be important to watch these likely October launches.
