Segway launches MUXI Pro cargo e-bike in US, claims 73-mile range
Segway has launched its new short-tail cargo electric bike, the MUXI Pro, in the US market. Built for daily commuting, office rides or carrying goods, the e-bike adds several new features over the older MUXI model. The company has priced it at 1,999.99 dollars and it is currently available only in the US.
On riding comfort, the model gets a 9-speed electronic auto-shifting system, a front suspension with 70 mm of travel, and turn indicators. Front and rear fenders come as standard features. The company has focused on a low standover height, an upright riding position and a low centre of gravity to keep the bike stable while carrying loads.
On power, the Segway MUXI Pro has a 750W motor that generates 80 Nm of torque. It comes with Adaptive Assist and Algorithm 2.0 technology, which adjusts the motor's assistance based on need. The system provides more power on inclines while also trying to reduce unnecessary energy consumption. According to the company, the bike can deliver a range of up to 73 miles on a single full charge.
As safety features, the MUXI Pro comes with Hill Descent Control, Regenerative Braking, Hill-Start Assist and a Traction Control System. These make it easier to keep the bike under control on descents, climbs and slippery roads. Smart features include Apple Find My, AirLock, Lost Mode, an HD TFT display, automatic headlights and OTA updates.
For everyday use and carrying goods, accessories such as a passenger kit, a front basket and a middle basket are available with the e-bike. These make it easier to carry groceries or other items. It is currently being sold in the US through Segway's dealers and the company's official online store.
