Security agencies seize secret Maoist letter on using Gen Z protests against government

Aggressive agitations are under way in several places against the Centre, particularly the "Gen Z" movement. The question being asked is whether Maoists are preparing to exploit these protests to further their own aims. The question arises because security agencies have taken possession of a highly confidential letter written between two senior Maoist comrades.

According to the information available, the letter was written by "Comrade Dheeraj" of the Maoists' International Cell to a very senior Maoist, "Comrade Ajith alias K Muralidharan". The letter speaks of making the anger of Gen Z and young people agitating against the government sharper still. Treating the contents of the letter as serious, the security agency has begun an in-depth investigation.

In the letter, Comrade Dheeraj has written that a person named "YY", described as a pseudonym or code name, has drawn up a special strategy for the agitation against the government. Under it, active use of the Gen Z network has been decided for forthcoming mass movements and political struggle. It also says the present atmosphere of struggle against the government should be intensified by putting Gen Z and young people at the forefront.

According to the letter, the Maoists' action plan involves running several campaigns against the government from the grassroots, relying on the strength of the youth. The letter also mentions that, besides directly challenging the government, the aim is to try to hold the government responsible for the consequences if violence breaks out in the agitation.

The letter is also said to state that several underground urban Maoist associates in Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha are ready to regroup and launch aggressive mass movements at an appointed time.

Under "YY"'s strategy, preparations are said to be under way to link all these mass movements with the experiment of the "Bharat Jodo Abhiyan" run during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The letter says that if the aggressive agitations of Gen Z and youths angry with the government join the Bharat Jodo Abhiyan, it would be possible to overthrow the present government. It also mentions that several political parties are ready to join the combined experiment of the "Bharat Jodo Abhiyan" and "Gen Z" and build a joint force against the government.

The letter indicates that urban Maoists are preparing to misuse Gen Z, exploiting its agitations on various issues to achieve their own ends. For this reason, the security agency's investigation is continuing.
