India's wushu player Roshibina Devi Norem won the silver medal in the women's 60kg sanda category at the Asian Games 2026. In the final held on Thursday, September 24, she lost 2-0 to China's Zhang Xiaoyu.

Zhang Xiaoyu took the lead from the start of the final. She won the first round 5-0 and kept up the same pace in the second round, winning both rounds by a combined margin of 10-0 to take the gold. Roshibina lost 0-2 and had to settle for silver.

Despite the loss, the bout was significant for Roshibina, as she won a medal at the Asian Games for the third consecutive time. She has become the first Indian woman wushu player to win medals at three straight Asian Games.

Roshibina's run began in 2018, when she won bronze in the 60kg sanda category at the Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games. She then won silver at the 2022 Asian Games, and has now won silver again at the 2026 Asian Games.

The wushu player, who is from Manipur, has performed impressively throughout her career. She won gold at the Asian Junior Championship in 2017, followed by gold at the South Asian Games in 2019. She has also won laurels for India at the World Wushu Championship.

In recognition of her career, she has been honoured with the Arjuna Award, India's second-highest sporting honour. She was also named the International Wushu Federation's Best Female Athlete of the Year in 2023.
