Renault Triber turbo version launched, priced from Rs 7.84 lakh
Renault India has launched a 100 PS turbo petrol version of the Triber, with a starting price of Rs 7,84,900.
Renault India has launched a new 100 PS turbo petrol version of its 7-seater Triber in India. The starting ex-showroom price of the model has been set at Rs 7,84,900, while the top variant will cost Rs 8,99,900. The new Triber Turbo is offered in three trims: Evolution, Techno and Emotion. The company has also introduced its Renault Group Entry Platform, or RGEP architecture, in India with this model.
The new car comes with a 1.0-litre TCe 100 turbo petrol engine that produces 100 PS of power and 180 Nm of torque. The company claims that the 180 Nm torque figure is the highest in this segment. The engine comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox, and the certified mileage is stated as 21 kmpl. A new R-EMS engine management system has also been fitted to control the engine's performance.
Several changes have also been made to the Triber's chassis and suspension to handle the increased power of the turbo engine. The suspension system has been upgraded, including front and rear anti-roll bars, MTV damper technology and new brake calibration. A BLDC cooling fan has also been provided for thermal management.
The Triber's modular cabin can be configured for 5, 6 or 7 occupants. The second row is sliding and reclining, while the third row gets a one-touch tumble feature. In the 5-seater setup, boot space goes up to 625 litres. The car has a ground clearance of 182mm and also offers 23 litres of storage space inside.
In terms of features, it gets an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digital LED instrument cluster, cruise control, wireless charging and automatic climate control. On safety, 6 airbags and 21 safety features are standard. According to the company, more than 2.5 lakh units of the Triber have been sold in India so far.
