Realme launches Harry Potter Edition of 16 Pro 5G in India

Realme has launched the Harry Potter Edition of its 16 Pro 5G smartphone in India. The special edition has been made in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and the Harry Potter franchise, featuring a Hogwarts-themed design, a custom UI and several collectible accessories.

The phone's design draws heavily on the Harry Potter world. It has a brown leather texture and an argyle pattern on the back, inspired by the wizard's chess theme from the films. A Hogwarts crest sits at the centre of the back panel, while the camera module is shaped like the eyes of Hedwig, Harry Potter's pet owl. The message "Welcome to Hogwarts" is laser-engraved on the metal mid-frame.

The collectible package bundled with the phone is also a major draw. A special box, designed to look like a Hogwarts trunk, includes a Hogwarts acceptance letter, a Hogwarts Express ticket, Hogwarts crest bookmarks, character postcards, a phone case with the Hogwarts logo and a special SIM ejector pin. According to the company, only 5,000 units of this special gift box are available.

The phone has a 6.78-inch 144Hz AMOLED display for smooth scrolling, gaming and video viewing, with high brightness and HDR10+ support. It is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Max 5G chipset for everyday use, multitasking and gaming.

On the battery front, the phone has a 7,000mAh Titan battery with 80W Ultra Charge fast charging support. Realme says it also includes bypass charging and battery health features. The rear camera setup includes a 200MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide camera, while the front camera is 50MP for selfies and video calls.

The Harry Potter theme extends to the software as well, with custom UI elements and themes tied to the world of Hogwarts. The Realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition is being sold in India through Realme and Flipkart, making it a collectible for franchise fans as much as a smartphone.
