Raza Murad slams absence of big stars at Mushtaq Khan's funeral
Actor Raza Murad expressed anger over top Bollywood stars staying away from veteran actor Mushtaq Khan's funeral in Mumbai
Senior Bollywood actor Mushtaq Khan is no more. He died on September 24, and his funeral was held in Mumbai on September 25. But actor Raza Murad has expressed anger over the absence of big Bollywood stars at the funeral.
Raza Murad recently shared a video on his Instagram grieving Mushtaq Khan's death. In the video, he also questioned why Bollywood actors did not come to the funeral.
Raza Murad said, "It is very unfortunate that not a single star came to bid him a final farewell. Many of his colleagues and actors were present there, but no big star showed up." He further said, "If it had been the wedding of some businessman's son, these stars would not just have been present, they would have served the guests like waiters. But the man who gave 50 years to the film industry, nobody came to his funeral."
Raza Murad did not name any particular celebrity, but he said it pained him to see that some actors could not even spare 50 minutes to attend Mushtaq Khan's funeral. Raza Murad further said, "He never flattered anyone, he reached where he was purely on the strength of his work." Concluding his remarks, Raza Murad reminded everyone that money and fame do not always go hand in hand.
Mushtaq Khan died on September 24. He had been hospitalised for the past few days and breathed his last on Thursday. He had been battling cancer. However, some actors did attend the funeral. Annu Kapoor, Gajendra Chauhan, Rajat Bedi, Jaya Bhattacharya and Rajpal Yadav, among others, were present at his funeral on September 25. Mushtaq Khan's son had also spoken about his final journey.
