Rainfall has weakened across Maharashtra over the past few days, leaving many areas dry, humid and cloudy. There is no heavy rain warning anywhere in the state on September 27, though light to moderate rain with thunder is expected in a few places. This has kept farmers waiting for rain worried.

The Konkan region has also seen a lull in rainfall. Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg districts have seen no rain for several days now. Brief spells of light to moderate rain are possible here, but heavy rain is not expected. Forecasts suggest no major change in conditions in the coming days either.

North Maharashtra also continues to see a rainfall deficit. Dhule, Nandurbar, Jalgaon and Nashik districts are expected to remain dry and humid. Some ghat areas may get light to moderate rain, but rain across the whole region is unlikely, keeping the rainfall gap in place.

Central Maharashtra, including Pune, can also expect only scattered rain. Pune, Satara, Sangli, Kolhapur and Solapur districts may see light to moderate rain in some places, with thunder in a few spots. However, there is no heavy rain alert for this region on September 27 either.

In Marathwada, the rainfall deficit is directly affecting crops. Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Jalna, Parbhani, Beed, Hingoli and Nanded are expected to remain largely dry. Latur and Dharashiv may see light to moderate rain with thunder in some places. The continuing rainfall gap is affecting crop growth.

In Vidarbha too, people are waiting for good rain. Akola, Amravati, Bhandara, Buldhana, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia and Nagpur, among other areas, have seen rain stop. Some areas will remain cloudy, while others are expected to see hot weather. This has extended the wait for decent rainfall in Vidarbha as well.

Overall, there is no heavy rain warning for the state on September 27, with rain expected in only a few areas. Rainfall is expected to pick up in some places after this, but whether it will rain across the entire state is not yet clear. Farmers troubled by the rainfall deficit now have their eyes on the coming weather forecasts.
