Nagpur's international air connectivity has taken a major blow. Qatar Airways' flight from Nagpur to Doha will operate for the last time on October 23. The service will then remain suspended until March 29, 2027. The decision could cause trouble for passengers travelling to the Gulf countries from Nagpur and surrounding areas.
Qatar Airways flight QR-591 will take off from Nagpur for the last time at 4 am on October 23. The service ran four days a week: Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. With the flight stopping, passengers heading to the Gulf countries and other international destinations via Doha will have fewer direct options.
Qatar Airways has suspended the Nagpur-Doha service until March 29, 2027. During this period, passengers travelling from Nagpur to Doha may have to change their travel plans. They may have to take connecting flights from Delhi, Mumbai or other cities. This is likely to increase both travel time and cost.
After the Qatar Airways service stops, Air Arabia's Nagpur-Sharjah service is said to be the only international flight left operating from Nagpur. Nagpur's international air connectivity will thus remain limited. Passengers who used to travel onward via Doha, in particular, may have to depend on other airports.
Those planning to travel to Doha or the Gulf countries should confirm the flight status with the airline concerned before booking tickets. Passengers who have already booked tickets should check the airline's official instructions on changes, refunds and alternative flights. Whether the service will resume after March 29, 2027 will also have to be confirmed with the airline.
