Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is out of the ODI series against New Zealand with an injury, and Akib Nabi replaces him for the first three matches.

India have made another change to their squad ahead of the ODI series against New Zealand. Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is out of the series with an injury, and Akib Nabi has been included in his place. The BCCI had earlier said that Prasidh Krishna would not be able to play the ODIs because of the injury.

The five-match ODI series between India and New Zealand is due to begin on November 4. Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be seen playing on New Zealand soil after a long gap. India have already won the T20 series and will now take the field intending to win the ODI series too.

According to information from the BCCI, the men's selection committee has also included fast bowler Akib Nabi in the squad for the first three ODIs against New Zealand. Prasidh Krishna had been out of the side with a hamstring injury and did not recover fully in the time available. For this reason, the BCCI decided to remove him from the ODI series.

Prasidh was in the Indian squad for the first three ODIs, but Akib Nabi has now taken his place for those matches. Akib was already in the squad for the first, fourth and fifth matches. That means he will be part of the Indian team for all five matches.

Akib Nabi earned his place in the Indian side after strong performances for Jammu and Kashmir in domestic cricket. He got the chance to make his debut in the ODI series against the West Indies. His first match was disappointing, however. He conceded 84 runs in 8.5 overs at an economy rate of 9.50 and did not take a wicket. But Akib is primarily a swing bowler, and conditions in New Zealand could work in his favour. Here he can improve his ODI record.

India squad for the first three ODIs: Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer (vice-captain), KL Rahul (wicketkeeper), Axar Patel, Naman Dhir, Anshul Kamboj, Gurnoor Brar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, Nitish Kumar Reddy (first ODI only) and Akib Nabi.

India squad for the fourth and fifth ODIs: Shreyas Iyer (captain), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, Ishan Kishan (wicketkeeper and vice-captain), Axar Patel, Naman Dhir, Akib Nabi, Gurnoor Brar, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, Yash Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav.
