Police seize vehicle carrying 102 sacks of rice in Nagpur
Police stopped a vehicle near a Sai temple in Nagpur's Jaripatka area and found 102 sacks of rice, with the FDA now checking if it is government ration rice.
Police in Nagpur's Jaripatka area have seized a vehicle loaded with sacks of rice. 102 sacks of rice were recovered from the vehicle.
Police stopped the vehicle, registration number MH-49-B-4279, near a Sai temple. During the search, 102 sacks of rice were found in the vehicle. Police handed over the vehicle, the driver and the sacks to the police station.
The FDA has been informed of the action. The FDA is set to examine the quality of the rice and the related documents. Only after that can it be established whether the recovered rice is government ration rice.
Ration smugglers buy grain from ration shops and get it to rice mills, from where it is sold in the open market after processing. The recovered rice is suspected to be linked to a trader named Jain from Panchpaoli.
