Police register kidnapping case after 16-year-old girl goes missing in Ballarpur
Ballarpur police have booked an unknown person for kidnapping a 16-year-old girl who left her relatives' home on October 1 and did not return.
Ballarpur police have registered a case of kidnapping of a minor girl, aged 16, against an unknown accused. The girl, who lives in the Ballarpur police station area, is suspected to have been enticed away by someone. Police have begun a intensive search for the accused.
According to the information available, the girl lived with her relatives. On October 1, at around 9 am, she left the house after telling them where she was going. She never reached the place she had said she would go to.
When she did not return home, the family's worry grew. The search everywhere yielded no clue. Relatives were asked about her, and she was looked for at all the places she might have gone. Despite all this effort, she could not be traced.
It was considered unlikely that the girl had gone off on her own. Suspicion therefore fell on an unknown person who, it is believed, enticed her away. The relatives then went to the police station immediately and lodged a complaint.
On the basis of the complaint, Ballarpur police registered a case of kidnapping against the unknown accused under Section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023. The name of the accused has not yet emerged.
A sub-inspector is conducting a detailed investigation into the case. Police teams have been dispatched to trace the missing minor and the accused as soon as possible. No arrest has been reported so far, and the police search continues.
