Smartphone maker OnePlus is preparing to stir up the market once again. According to the latest leaks, the company is set to bring out a phone that puts special emphasis on performance. It could be named 'OnePlus Turbo 7 Pro' or 'OnePlus Turbo Pro'. It is reportedly being built with heavy gaming and photography enthusiasts in mind.
The leaks say it could get a 6.78-inch flat display with 1.5K resolution. The display would support a high refresh rate of 185Hz, which should noticeably change the experience of mobile gaming, smooth scrolling and high-frame-rate animation.
Qualcomm's SM8845 Pro processor is said to be in use for speed. It is possibly being called the 'Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro'. The processor is based on 3nm architecture and is described as fully capable of running multitasking and top-end gaming without any lag.
On the camera, the phone is likely to get a 200-megapixel primary rear camera, which would allow clear, high-definition photographs. No information has yet emerged about the other camera lenses and sensors.
The biggest highlight of the phone could be its battery. According to the leaked information, a heavy battery of 9,000mAh to 10,000mAh is being tested in its engineering samples. If this feature makes it to the final model, the phone's battery life on a single charge would be very long.
To keep the phone from heating up in long gaming sessions, OnePlus may also offer an external cooling fan accessory to help keep the temperature under control. This shows the company's main focus is on hardcore gamers.
The leaks say the phone could arrive at the end of 2026. No official information has been released yet on its price, RAM, storage or availability in India. It is also unclear whether the phone will come under the name 'OnePlus Turbo 7 Pro' or another name. For now, all these features should be treated only as possible leaks, and an official announcement will have to be awaited.
Once on the market, the smartphone is expected to face direct and stiff competition from the upcoming 'iQOO Z12 Turbo' smartphone from the iQOO brand. The reason is that both devices are likely to have similar gaming features and cooling mechanisms.
