Nurse dies by suicide after harassment, case filed against man in Nagpur
Nagpur police booked a man for allegedly forcing a nurse to die by suicide after harassing her over a promised marriage
Dhantoli police in Nagpur have registered a case against a man accused of sexually exploiting a nurse on the pretext of marriage and driving her to suicide.
The 30-year-old victim had been in a relationship with the accused, Sachin Dahat, since 2015. Sachin was pursuing a PhD in Pune.
According to the complaint, Sachin promised to marry the woman and had a physical relationship with her, but later refused to marry her. This led to disputes between the two.
Sachin allegedly threatened to make photos and videos of the woman viral on social media and send them to her relatives. His behaviour left the woman in shock, and under this stress, she died by suicide by hanging on August 19.
Dhantoli police began investigating the case. Based on a complaint by the woman's mother, a case of abetment to suicide has been registered against Sachin.
