Residents of Navi Mumbai and CIDCO areas will have to go without water on Tuesday, October 6, 2026. The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) will carry out essential repairs and valve installation work at a water purification centre and on the main water pipelines. As a result, supply through the main pipeline will remain completely shut for 16 hours.

The shutdown will begin at 10 am on Tuesday, October 6, and continue until 2 am on Wednesday, October 7. The corporation has informed residents in advance and appealed to them to store water and use it carefully during the shutdown. It has also asked people to cooperate.

The work will be carried out at the Bhokarpada water purification centre and on the Morbe main pipeline. At the Bhokarpada centre, an M.S. plate will be fitted to isolate the sump channel, which has a capacity of 13.5 million litres. A new metering kiosk will also be installed at the centre. Installing a flow meter on the Morbe main pipeline near the centre is also on the list.

In addition, a butterfly valve will be fitted on the Morbe main pipeline in CBD. One butterfly valve each will also be installed on the distribution pipeline linked to the main pipeline near Arenja Circle in Vashi, and on the distribution pipeline linked to the main pipeline in Mahape.

In NMMC areas, water supply will be shut in Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Turbhe-Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli and Airoli divisions. In CIDCO areas, the Kharghar and Kamothe nodes are also affected.

Supply will resume on October 7 after the shutdown ends. However, pressure in the pipeline takes time to build up, so water is likely to arrive at low pressure on the morning and evening of Wednesday, October 7, 2026.

The impact will therefore not be limited to Tuesday. Homes and housing societies that depend on morning and evening supply will need to budget their water on Wednesday as well. The corporation has asked all residents of the NMMC area to use water judiciously throughout this period.
