Nani's 'The Paradise' earns Rs 76.90 crore on day one, his biggest opener
Nani's action-thriller 'The Paradise' opened to a worldwide Rs 76.90 crore on day one, the biggest opener of his career.
Telugu superstar Nani's new film 'The Paradise' has opened with a bang at the box office. The action-thriller, released on September 24, earned Rs 76.90 crore worldwide on its first day. This is the biggest opening of Nani's career so far, surpassing the previous record held by his film 'Hit: The Third Case'.
According to Sacnilk figures, the film earned a net Rs 34.65 crore in India on day one. Its gross collection in India stood at Rs 54.90 crore, while overseas earnings added Rs 22 crore, taking the worldwide total to Rs 76.90 crore.
The film had already earned a net Rs 11.60 crore from limited preview shows held on Wednesday. Including this, its total net collection in India has reached Rs 46.25 crore. Reports peg the film's budget at around Rs 200 crore.
'The Paradise' has broken the opening-day record of Nani's 2025 film 'Hit: The Third Case', which had earned around Rs 21 crore on its first day in India. Nani and director Srikanth Odela's 2023 film 'Dasara' had earned a net Rs 23.20 crore in India on its first day. 'The Paradise' has opened bigger than both these films.
Despite being Nani's biggest opener, 'The Paradise' has not surpassed some of the bigger recent Telugu releases. 'The Raja Saab' earned a net Rs 53.75 crore in India and Rs 100.20 crore worldwide, while 'Peddi' earned a net Rs 51 crore in India and Rs 110.49 crore worldwide. Against these, 'The Paradise's Rs 34.65 crore in India and Rs 76.90 crore worldwide fall short. It is a record opening by Nani's own standards, but the film still has a long way to go to match these bigger releases.
The Hindi-dubbed version of 'The Paradise' has not received the response expected. On Thursday, its first day, the Hindi version earned a net Rs 2.25 crore. Meanwhile, 'Hanuman Ansh' earned a net Rs 3.65 crore at the Hindi box office even on its 49th day of release. The film's total net collection in India has reached Rs 288.33 crore, with a worldwide gross of Rs 377.05 crore, and it earned from 6,729 shows on day 49.
While the Hindi-dubbed version of 'The Paradise' earned less than 'Hanuman Ansh', it has outdone 'Mirzapur: The Movie', which had earned Rs 1.50 crore. The film's start in the Hindi market is not entirely disappointing, though sustaining collections in the coming days will be key.
Meanwhile, Kunal Kemmu, Preity Zinta and Sparsh Shrivastava's film 'Vibe' has completed its first week at the box office. Made on a budget of around Rs 40 crore, the film earned a net Rs 11.35 crore in its first week. However, its day-seven collection fell from Rs 1 crore to Rs 90 lakh. With new releases such as 'The One', 'Love Lottery' and 'Avengers: Endgame Encore' now out, 'Vibe' is expected to see a reduction in its show count.
Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran's 'Daayra' is faring worse at the box office. Directed by Meghna Gulzar, the film has earned only a net Rs 6.36 crore in seven days. On Thursday, 'Daayra' earned a net Rs 41 lakh. Its collections have shown no major growth even after the first week.
From Friday, September 25, several new films are releasing at the box office. Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia's 'The One', along with 'Love Lottery' and 'Avengers: Endgame Encore', will give audiences more choices. All eyes are now on how 'The Paradise' performs in the days ahead.
