Nagpur youth ends life after girlfriend blocks his number
A 23-year-old man died by suicide in Nagpur after his girlfriend blocked his mobile number amid family opposition to their relationship.
A 23-year-old man took his own life within the jurisdiction of Kalamna police station in Nagpur city following a dispute in his romantic relationship. He became mentally distressed after his girlfriend blocked his mobile number and hanged himself at his own home. The deceased has been identified as Prem Shukla, 23.
According to police sources, Prem and a 20-year-old woman had been in a relationship for about four years. However, Prem's father had opposed the relationship from the start. Prem was addicted to alcohol and cigarettes, and it was over this issue that Prem and the woman had a dispute over the phone.
Following this dispute, Prem's father asked the woman to block Prem's mobile number. The woman then blocked his number for some time. On learning that his number had been blocked, Prem was deeply shaken and mentally broken, and was hurt by it.
Shortly afterward, he hanged himself at his home. When family members noticed this, they rushed him to hospital, but doctors examined him and declared him dead.
Kalamna police have registered a case of accidental death in the matter and have begun further investigation.
