Nagpur: Son stabs father to death with screwdriver in family dispute
A quarrel over an electricity bill and household expenses in Nagpur turned fatal when a son stabbed his father in the stomach.
A family dispute turned deadly in the Lakadganj police station area of Nagpur. During an ongoing quarrel over an electricity bill and household expenses, a fight broke out between a father and son. The father first throttled the son, and when the dispute escalated further, the son stabbed his father in the stomach with a screwdriver. The critically injured father died during treatment at the hospital. Lakadganj police have arrested the accused son in the case.
The family lives near Akash Building at Gangabai Ghat. Mamata Sahare and the accused, Tushar Sahare, are mother and son. A dispute had been going on between husband and wife over not paying the electricity bill and not giving money for household expenses. During this, the deceased, Bablu Sahare, was under the influence of alcohol. According to police, during the dispute Bablu allegedly assaulted his son Tushar and throttled him. This caused the dispute to escalate further. Tushar then assaulted his father Bablu Sahare and stabbed him in the stomach with a screwdriver. Bablu Sahare was critically injured in the screwdriver attack. He was immediately admitted to a medical hospital for treatment, but died during treatment. After the incident, Mamata Sahare filed a complaint at Lakadganj police station. Police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the accused Tushar Sahare and arrested him.
