An accused who abducted a six-year-old boy from Nagpur railway station was caught by the railway police within just 24 hours in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh. The boy has been recovered safe.

The boy's father originally hails from Rajasthan. He had gone to Hyderabad with his three children in search of work. When he could not find work there, he was returning to Rajasthan from Secunderabad railway station. During this journey, he met the accused, Mithun Kumar Paswan, who is originally from Bihar. Mithun told him he would get him a job at a company he knew, and using this pretext, brought him from Secunderabad to Nagpur.

On the way, the train had halted at Nagpur railway station. During this time, the father stepped out of the station to buy medicine for the children. Taking advantage of this opportunity, the accused Mithun Paswan fled from there with the six-year-old boy.

As soon as the matter reached the Nagpur railway police and a complaint of the boy's abduction was received, police stepped up the investigation. By examining CCTV footage, they determined the direction in which the accused had boarded a train. Following this, after checking CCTV footage at every railway station along the route, one team was sent towards Bihar and another towards Uttar Pradesh.

Eventually it was found that the accused had got off with the abducted boy at Mirzapur railway station. With the immediate help of the Mirzapur police, the accused was arrested and the abducted boy was safely rescued. Because of the police's swift action, the boy escaped unharmed from the accused's clutches, drawing praise from all quarters. Further legal action is being taken against the accused.
